“This is our first JCB having previously used a Caterpillar telehandler which are no longer manufactured. This is the reason we looked at various brands to see how they faired in comparison.

Rob Steele was our first port of call, introduced as our local Area Sales Manager who offered us a trial with a demonstrator, which had a DualTech transmission. We needed it to tow and it outperformed other brands in this way, we really liked the gearbox.

We’ve been really pleased with the JCB having happily been using the Caterpillar previously. It has certainly lived up to and even exceeded our expectations. We load grain, seed and fertiliser, with a few different attachments for grabbing timber and muck when needed. It’s more than capable and we have no complaints.

When we first had it there were a couple of niggles, rain was getting in the rear window which was easily sorted. Any niggles were sorted straight away. Anyone can sell you something, it’s how they react when something goes wrong which counts. We’ve got no complaints, Rob Steele is a top man and the back up is brilliant.

We’ve opted for a 5 year servicing plan so we can manage our costs, we use Livelink to help assist us with the servicing requirements. We use the Auto shut off function so if you do happen to get waylaid it will cut off for you. There is an eco mode which we have found useful when loading the wheat and worked perfectly.”
